The Stanley Cup is OVER!
Congratulations to the Detroit Red Wings who played a GREAT series.
It's been TWO MONTHS of watching.
And now all the Hockey fans have all that time back in their lives... and perhaps you are .... still single....
And you are wondering, I'm single, I'm one of those singles ... what can I do this weekend to increase my chances to get dates? Or to get MORE dates?

OK. So you're asking, APRIL! I KNOW you are a great Romance Coach and an expert Online Dating Coach, but what am I to DO? What am I going to DO this weekend to up my chances of meeting other singles.
GO TO A STREET FAIR!
Yes, it's that time of year again.
Street Fairs. They are all over the place. Different ethnic festivals. Chinese. Russian. Italian. Irish. Indian. Japanese. Jewish Festivals. Latino Carnival. You try some different foods. Learn about a culture which is perhaps a bit different than your own. Or is your own and you are one of the ambassadors. Cool, n'est pas?
Doing this will require that you be open to a MultiCultural Dating, Interracial Dating relationship. Of course, where I live, this is like breathing. It's just such a GIVEN.
To find Street Fairs in your area, check out Google, naturally, as well as your local newspaper and alternative newspaper for their Events Calendar.
Part of the fun part of eating at one of these Street Fairs is the very eating of different food offers you a point over which to safely converse with OTHERS. "Oh, wow," sucking in breath, "I've never tasted food so HOT! WOW! Would you please pass me the plain yogurt?" and you have exchanged WORDS. We call that, Starting a Conversation. Now you're rolling!

They just won The Stanley Cup, 3:2.
The Guins showed some great hustle in the final minutes, but it just too late.
What a great pairing of teams.
They are now going the wonderful tradition of shaking hands down the line.

OK. For my age demographic, this weekend will NOT be about dating.
Sex In The City, the movie, opens. Sex In The City, Sex In The City Movie
So, gentlemen, go with the Law of Large Numbers.
I will not suggest that you go to a full fledged chick flick. Nor will I ask you to hold my purse at the store. (you might do so while we are at the hospital, but NOT at the store. I'll NEVER ask. Your masculinity is safe with me.)
However, you could, ya know, venture over to the movie theatre, and ah, hang in the lobby. You will SEE and MEET a LOT of women. I know it is harder to move in when we are gaggled en masse. Just, movie theatres will be a great place to go Girl Watching.
And ladies? Where will I be? Not there. First of all, I'd rather wait until after opening weekend when it will be CRAZY. And BESIDES, it's Date Night. I will, naturally be On a Date. Of course, AFTER The Stanley Cup Game 4....
If you are a single lady? I think head out to the sports bars and you will meet a lot more men this weekend because so many women will be at SITC. So, head out early...
Oh, and the Stanley Cup game starts at 8 pm EDT. So, you could head out to the bars a little early..... The men will be watching the games. And you will have LESS competition in The Field because of all the women who will be watching Sex In The City at the theatres.

Hmmm sounds like a Dominatrix thing.
But what I DO mean is, bring or wear conversation starters.
Ok so I got 3 hrs sleep last night and had only had coffee when I got to San Jose airport this morning.
Yup, as I told Sonya Lenzo, Business Insurance, Construction Insurance Maven when I saw her tonight. "I'm sleep deprived, ON caffeine, my mind fried hours ago, but mouth is still going!" I was just chit chatting up a storm with everyone I met. Not so much non stop talking (you're thinking, "Thank God!" lol!), but I just easily fell into conversations.
So, it's Stanley Cup season (almost like Christmas if you're from the Northeast or if you're from Canada, where they understand this game and devote a whole evening to it, "Hockey Night in Canada." I love that country!)... and the San Jose Sharks are still, miraculously in contention. ANYONE I saw wearing a Sharks accessory got enthusiastic comments from me.
You see, they were WEARING props.
They were wearing a conversation starter.
A Sharks hat.
Great hat! Can you believe they're still in contention?
A Sharks jersey.
Pardon me, I need your help, but before that, I just have to say, WHAT a fabulous Sharks jersey you're wearing.
These make it EASY for another person to casually start a conversation with us.
Indeed, in both cases, we had a short, fun, and pleasant conversation.
You might wear an innnnnnteresting lapel pin.
Or carry a book, i.e. The Secret Language of Business, best selling Persuasion and Body Language author, Kevin Hogan's latest book.
My what an innnnteresting cover photo. OK, go over to Amazon because I think if I cite the photo here I'm breaking copyright law..... The Secret Language of Business You already own it, right? If not, just click that puppy into your shopping cart and display your leadership and be a reader.
Now if you were reading that at the airport, at the train station, waiting for a bus, who WOULDN'T at least say, "What an interesting photo. What is that book about?" (insert batting of eyelashes is always optional, but for Da Ladies, I recommend it.
Et voila! you have an opening line or two for a conversation. And with carrying a book around, you immediately distinguish yourself from the herd of non-readers in this world. Beauty AND brains. Or display masculine prowess - oooh, intelligent and handsome!
