Online Dating Coach - Essential qualifying questions to ask early, "Do you Like Hockey?"
Do you even know what Hockey IS?
I'm teasing you all here, because in my family's life, we LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE ice hockey.
I know of married couples where the hockey fan made a point of gently introducing Hockey LOVE to the prospective spouse. Gently inculcated for it during the courtship.
And God still has a sense of humor, because my brother's fiance? Doesn't like hockey. We are all OK with that... so long as she understands we are GLUED to the tube during Stanley Cup playoffs.
"Honey, I know we said we were going to to dinner at 8 pm. However, we just entered the second period of sudden death overtime...."
We do not expect spouses to understand that statement completely. We just need to communicate that THAT IS a sufficient excuse to eat a later dinner.
Now, of course, the fact that we are all together DOES mean we can be trusted, there is no one else.
Only Lord Stanley!
Now, what about YOU?
What is one of YOUR passions? Let's be real, your sports passion which you are hoping your future spouse will share with you? or at least will put up with?
Screen for that during early dates. Drop those words casually into singles dating conversations. With your online dating sites profile for internet personals, include those in your KEY WORDS or Hot Lists.
Yup
I have hockey in mine. Now, not all of my dates LOVE hockey. But they are NOT surprised to hear I love it. Truth in advertising, because I mentioned it early!
Have fun and play safe!

What a great picture of George and Felissa!
I'm sorry to say hockey doesn't interest me in the least, but my husband has no interest in sports either. This makes me VERY happy.

I love hockey, too! :-) Was a big Penguins fan a number of years ago, but now the Bruins are "my" team.

My late husband was like that. He was more of a football fan with an occasional baseball game thrown in.
He would enjoy watching about 1 or 2 hockey games a month.
And then our family would get hockey RELIGION during the Stanley Cup when indeed, we ARE "Cup Crazy." He wasn't as into it, but ALLOWED that I was. TG it was only for a few weeks that it was THAT intense. The final 2 weeks, we would just have that crazed obsessed look in our eyes. "You're not changing the channel, are you?"
For you, I imagine your SO/GF would need to share your passion around health and good eating, or be OPEN to improving/interested, yes?

I hear that a live hockey game (even with the lowly UK teams) is incredibly exciting but I've never made it to a match.
I must make the effort to take my children when they're a bit older.

I don't really like hockey, may watch it though from time to time. My husband likes footbal, so it's more often that I watch footbal with him.
