Indeed, as a dating expert and online dating coach, single gals are often relating tales of their own beliefs that men want them all to be 20, gorgeous, body perfect, like porn stars or something. At least, that is what the single women are thinking and fearing.
well, let me give you some relief. that is NOT the case.
Indeed, what men, not boys, are actually looking for is some maturity which we can all work on.
And they want YOU to look YOUR best.
You do not have to look or be body perfect. Cancel the major plastic surgery appointment. (a little is FINE if it helps you feel YOUR most attractive YOU!).
Instead, do get your skin cared for well by a stolid dermatologist and get facials regularly so your skin is ITS best. And do you 35SPF sunscreen to keep it YOUTHFUL looking.
Also, next visit to your salon (I'm going tomorrow.) be sure to get your hair styled with a current style, not one from 10 years ago like the Jennifer Aniston look from 1995. (Maybe look at her new look on the cover of GQ instead!) Get your color and style updated regularly.
The idea here is to be YOUR best self.
Not someone else.
Indeed, single men (and single women) are attracted to REAL people. They just want us to make an effort to look GOOD, our best selves.
And they are right.
We are worth it!

I'll flip this around. Some single men have the belief that in order to be taken seriously, single women want a man who is, a replica of Brad Pitt/Tyson Beckford and throw in for good measure a 100K a year career and a BMW...
What each man wants is different. To suggest that ALL men want is a 20 year old porn star hottie is a generalization. In my view, I WANT to look my best because I WANT to feel good about myself. I do noth HAVE to do things "to sway a woman into doing the date zero"
Basic personal hygiene (shower using soap, brushing your teeth) is part of everyday living. At this point in life, if this is not mastered...permanent bachleorette hood.
In short, women/men, especially being in the 30something singles, that still have the "must be a cover model", generally don't practice what they preach. Typically, the woman is fat, hasn't had much success in men or is very afraid--might I add very shallow. Having said this, in my own personal preference that I tend to shy away from the fat, obese women since I practice the healthy lifestyle. On my college campus...it is overflowing with fat young women.
By the way, the New Year's Eve dance did not produce anything. I got emails back saying the women are not interested in getting to know someone two hours away. I am not surprised...most people do not get involved in long distance. I conclude that my New Year's Eve dance was a bust.
I couldn't agree more. Women who make the best of themselves so that they look attractive and, perhaps more importantly, feel attractive to themselves make for the most pleasant people to be with.
