I'll be at the SDForum BI SIG tomorrow night. And Thursday during the day I could attend the NorCal OAUG Hyperion session. See what I mean?
In fact, around here, there are Business Networking events so often that you could go to one every night/day.
Ladies, unless it is the chamber of commerce's business woman's roundtable, these will about 97% MEN MEN MEN.
Could be good for you also for some business networking if you're beautiful, incredibly talented in your field, and leverage just a LITTLE sex appeal like my good friend Sonya Lenzo who knows how to make Business Insurance UNDERSTANDABLE for the rest of us.
You will meet a TON of men. There is often at least wine served. How excellent, because you can have a little, sip some, and loosen up just a little and, well, flirt a touch while handing out your business card and inquiring as to their work and their business.

This is so true, April. The majority of business networking groups, unless specifically geared to women, are generally all men. Several I've been to there's only myself and one or two other women there. 'Competition' is low.

April, Of course, its best if they go to a Networking Group where they actually know something about the subject....like if they are starting a business and go to a networking group about that subject. There is nothing so attractive as a woman who is passionate about a subject!!!
Oh, you will be GREAT at it.
the thing is, really, just like, dating, it takes some practice to become really comfortable and confident doing it.
So, pick 5 to attend and GO.
And I would say a number of the male oriented ones, all the b-school alumni ones, DESPERATELY need your style and wardrobe guidance. YOU could be a speaker for them on a 15-20 min topic about some essential BUSINESS image wardrobe advise. Much like in Philly......
